Women's support circle in Easingwold, York. in York
Description:
Feeling stuck in the same cycles?
Do you struggle with anxiety or lack confidence and find it hard to make decisions, need reassurance from others and avoid doing thing's?
Are you a self-confessed control freak who finds it hard to accept help or struggles to slow down?
Perhaps you find it hard to say no, or try and rescue or fix others' problems leaving you emotionally drained.
Do you have dysfunctional relationships that affect your family, work
and social life? Have you have been called "needy" or "sensitive"?
These symptoms can be caused by attachment wounds, codependency, difficult early life experiences or trauma. When we understand this we have the opportunity to change things that are in our control and break negative cycles.
The six week group will start on September the 4th and others will run throughout 2024/25. Pre-booking's only £60 paid in advance.
The Women's support group is facilitated by an experienced accredited Psychotherapist who's aim is to provide affordable therapy for women who want to improve their quality of life. The course will include a 60 - 90 minute session each week depending on numbers. This introductory course will help you to learn the basic theory behind anxiety and depression guided by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) evidence and how to unpack your life including limiting beliefs and rules for living that keep you stuck, along with helpful insights and tools to help you experience less threat and more soothing. At the start of each session the facilitator will provide psychoeducational information followed by a short period of self-reflection before regrouping; other short exercises such as body scanning and breathe practice will be included. Although encouraged you do not have to share insights or experiences with others and there will not be an ice-breaker exercise when we meet, however, you will have the opportunity to connect with other women in a safe, confidential environment. This group will help you decide if you would benefit from one to one support or further group work.
Following completion of the 6-week group a ongoing monthly support circle will be available dependent on numbers.
