Job Title: Female Personal Assistant / Carer

Responsible to: Directly accountable to and taking direction from the employer and the employer's representative

Hours: Up to 25 hours per week & additional hours will be offered, flexibility is needed

Average Work Pattern:

Monday: 10am-4pm

Tuesday: 9am-10:30am and 5pm-7pm

Wednesday: 9am-10:30am and 5-7pm

Thursday: 9am-10:30am and 5pm-7pm

Friday: 10am-4pm

Shift patterns may change on occasions but the employer will give you notice of this.

Additional hours will be offered and flexibility is needed

Hourly Rate of Pay: £23.00 per hour

Based at: Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire

Job Description

We are looking for a female PA/Carer too help support a 22-year-old female with complex medical needs within her family home. She is a wheelchair user but highly independent.

We are looking for an individual who is compassionate, intuitive, reliable with a good sense of humour and a respectful attitude. Strong organisational and time management skills. Ideally be motivated and have the ability to help her achieve as much independence as possible, as well as having the ability to use your own initiative when required but recognising the need to step back when the situation arises.

Whilst a professional relationship is a must, ideally, we are looking for someone who will also be a companion to her; someone she can enjoy time with and help her engage in her activities and hobbies when needed.

Flexible in the hours and times that you can work.

Some form of health and social care experience preferred.

Main duties

- Assistance with medical tasks including: PEG Care, suprapubic catheter, sterile procedures and care of a central line including Total Parenteral Nutrition, and more.
- Medication administration and ordering + organising of medication and supplie
- Support in accessing the community - attending social activities, events, hospital appointments etc.
- Helping with general daily tasks
- Helping assisting her to achieve independence along with her lifestyle choices and goals.
- Support with domestic duties within the home such as changing the bed, washing and ironing
- Support with shopping
- To be a companion to the lady
- Candidates to be comfortable around dogs
- Full training will be provided.
- Other medical support to be discussed at interview.
- To perform such other duties as may reasonably be required

Candidate must hold a driving licence. Employees will be insured on and drive the employers car.

The offer will be made subject to satisfactory references.

The post carries a 3 month's probationary period.
