AUSTIN BIG SEVEN 1938 SIXLITE SALOON DRIVE AWAY FOR MOTORING ADVENTURES

! ! ! DO NOT MISS THE YouTube COMPLETE DEMO VIDEO ! ! !

If you didn't smile a little when you looked at the picture that made you click on this advert, this is not the car for you, this Austin Seven oozes charm and character, its in great running order and its ready for a whole summer of motoring adventure's, buy , drive, enjoy.

1938 very genuine original car, its full title would be Austin Big Seven Sixlite Saloon, not really big any way it's just a slightly bigger version of the Seven with a larger 900cc engine and 4 doors, its still a tiny car and just as cute as its smaller cousin but with a bit more room and oomph.

It starts on the button and runs very smoothly, see the video, all the mechanicals have been very well maintained and are working spot on, really good brakes and handbrake, no wander on the steering, 4 speed gearbox, its just had a complete new set of tyres including the spare wheel, they all still have pips on. All the electrics operate, all the driving lights, wiper, horn, dash clocks and gauges operate, both trafficator's pop out. All four doors open easily and click shut, all the windows wind down, the tilting windscreen and sliding roof open easily, it's as good as any convertible with everything open as you trundle along, again see it in our video having a sunny day run out, see if you can spot the regal passenger in the back seat being chauffeured along.

We haven't done anything to this one, not touched up any imperfections, its fine as it is, yes it has signs of use, yes it has paint imperfections, yes the carpets could do with changing, but why touch it ? It's a genuine and very honest 86 year old motoring survivor looking exactly as it should and telling a story, it would be a very easy restoration as its complete and solid throughout, the buyer can decide. Personally, I wouldn't touch it, want's nothing to just be enjoyed.

Its unbelievably solid underneath, not all sprayed with under seal and covered up, nothing needs hiding and its very well greased and oiled, clearly been very well maintained, no signs of any major leaks, all the track rod rubbers, cables, springs, rods, adjusters are in very good condition, see it all in the video. The car completed a 50 mile drive just before we picked it up and the last owner has enjoyed many days out.

The car is in very original and genuine condition, it is not going to win any concourse trophies, but it will draw more attention than any other highly polished over restored money pit at any show or gathering, you will see red faced Alvis owner's glare at you as their car is bypassed by folk to see this little gem, it will 100% create more interest, people love cars in the condition and I've taken similar cars to show fields myself and enjoyed the constant flow of admiration.

Quite a good history file which has the original and current logbooks, a current HPI all clear printout, lots of old invoices, receipts, some old MOT's and tax discs, lots of letter's regarding the car and club member booklets, plus a handwritten history of every owner, its never really left the North West of England all its life, it even comes with two sets of keys and benefits from free road tax, requires no MOT and runs well on modern petrol.

One hub cap is mismatched and poorly fitted, we took it off for the road test, apart form that we can't find much else to comment on, any of the other cars you have looked at this well demonstrated, with a comprehensive video and underside fully shown ? Nothing hidden, nothing to hide.

There is a huge owners club and following for these cars, parts are readily available, advice, expertise, tips, work arounds can be found on multiple online forums when the inevitable vintage car moment occurs, the resolution will be easily found.

Very sensibly priced car that can be used today, they are only ever this original once, if you fancy some charming motoring fun this summer and like what you see get it touch.
