For loan 12.2hh Welsh B x Arab gelding. in Tavistock

Please read to the end before messaging .
Due to a change in our circumstances we are looking for a suitable loan home for my daughters pony.
Benjamin is a Welsh b x Arab very handsome 12.2hh SHP type.
He has been out on loan to a friend for the last two years and been ridden by her confident 10 year old daughter, but been more of a field companion over the winter. He now needs to find a new home and best friend to love and care for him.

Good points
He is a fantastic inhand show pony who wins every time he goes out. He has the most beautiful elevated paces which always wows the judges.
He's been in southern show magazine and always turns heads.
As a lead rein pony for my daughter he was fab.
My daughter is quite a confident rider and his elevated paces didn't faze her.
He is a very talented bold jumper.
Also perfect in traffic and on the open moor.
Hacks alone and in company.
Good for the farrier and dentist.
He is kind natured and loves a fuss.
He can live out rugged or be stabled with turnout.

Negative points
Benjamin is sharp off the leadrein and needs a confident lightweight rider or to be led.
He may be more suited to a lightweight adult or a non ridden in hand showing home with someone older.
He has been known to unexpectedly take off in a school environment.
He did a short stint in a riding school but was unsuitable due to this as he can be unpredictable .
He has been checked by a vet and no health issues are obvious but he will sometimes scoot forward unexpectedly.
He doesn't like an unbalanced rider.
He can be nervous if he doesn't see you behind him and can't be lunged or long reined .
He hates leg straps on rugs but is fine with a fillet string under his tail.
He has always been like this since we bought him 6 years ago.
We believe someone may of hit him from behind before we owned him or he got caught in something hence his worry.
He is better when in regular work and being groomed etc daily.
He will travel in a trailer or lorry but can take a bit of time when loading.
He can be tricky to catch sometimes but gives up eventually!
He is a sweet but sensitive little soul who would be suited to a calm patient person .
Once he knows you and builds trust he's fantastic and will try his little heart out for you.
He is currently very wooly and hairy but could be bought back this summer to his beautiful self !
Serious enquires only please.
I've been as honest as I can about him.
Absolutely no novices please.
Must stay local to Devon / Cornwall area.
