Due to a change in personal circumstances, I'm having to sell my best friend, Matty.
Absolutely heartbreaking sale.
13 year old 16.3hh TB bay gelding. Low mileage horse! Ran in 2 P2P and is ROR eligible, racing name Dandylion.
I've owned Matty for 7 years and retrained him myself. We've done a bit of everything together. Well schooled, working at Novice dressage and competing up to 1m SJ, unfortunately due to my health Matty has had around 2 years off, with the odd sit on every now and again.
He has been brought back into work this year and is coming on nicely with 3 balanced, uphill paces and a confident jump. Due to his time off, Matty still needs to build some muscle, however, his lateral work is still there and we can do a few paces of Medium trot again, he just needs the muscle and to be reminded of everything he's been taught in life. He is also finding jumping very exciting! This means he is currently doing a small leap about 3-4 strides out of the jump because he just loves it so much, I've been working on schooling him out of this.
Hacking is not our forte, previously we hacked confidently alone or in company, but since we haven't been hacking much the past 4 years, he is no longer as confident alone. Will hack in company, but is still spooky (nothing dangerous, just stands still to look, takes a side step or does a bit of a jump if something takes him by surprise) I'm sure with more work, he will be back to his former hacking glory! Brilliant with traffic.
He is good on the ground and never bargy, the only thing he might do is get a bit of a mission on in new places.
Good to load, better in a lorry, can take encouragement for a trailer, but always managed to load him on my own. Good with the farrier, but can get impatient.
Good to catch, groom etc.

Matty is not blemish free! He has splints from his racing days that have never caused any issues. When I bought him, he had sarcoids, these were lasered off in 2014 and have not returned since. Matty also had a growth on his penis that meant he had a partial amputation in 2015, again, this hasn't caused him any issues at all.

He currently has a cut under his chin that is still healing and he will not leave until this is 100% healed, but can still be ridden.

Not a novice ride as he can be sharp at times. Good, long term home essential!
Comes with full wardrobe.
