The 410ce SLTD must be one Taylor's most inspired guitars. Not only does it have Taylor's excellence in build quality and trademark sound, but the Ovangkol back and sides offer a tonal range equivelent to that of their Rosewood guitars, but with a warmer mid range and more defined top end at less cost. The simple versatile and warmth that this guitar offers can not be overstated, when heard by other guitarist I often get comments about how nicely balanced it sounds. On their website Taylor states that "The cutaway 410ce SLTD marries the classic Dreadnought body style with modern Taylor refinements to create an inspiring playing experience. Solid ovangkol shares rosewood's full-spectrum tonal range, with a slightly fuller midrange and a bright, focused top end. Pickers and strummers will love the blend of power and articulation, along with Taylor's sleek, playable necks. Fresh aesthetic touches include white binding, Italian acrylic dot fretboard inlays, a three-ring rosette, and an all-gloss body, while the onboard Taylor Expression System 2 pickup and preamp deliver a smooth plug-and-play experience."

I purchased this guitar on the day it arrived in the U.K. (I had gone in to buy a much more expensive model, but it blew everything else out of the water). Now at just over 4 years old, it has settled and opened up wonderfully. Professionally set up and regually serviced it has been well cared for however there are a few minor dings on top and dirty pick scuffs under the strings (hence the lower price), but it is nothing that you wouldn't expect to see on 'played in' guitar. The back, sides and neck are unblemished and the ovangkul has a lovely cat like stripes running through the wood, which just finishes it off perfectly.

As a Limited Edition model, the guitar comes with the bombproof Taylor Deluxe Hard and the ES2 pick up (Taylor's flagship pick up system). The joy of this guirar is that it just sounds great both electrically and acoustically. This system is in full working order (however, I have also sold my amp, so I would recommend that to bring an amp with you, to hear just how good it is).
