A slide out caravan can be expanded to increase the interior living space. This is done through movable sections of the caravan which slide out to make the interior wider. This is done by using an onboard 12-volt electric motor which, at the press of a button, increases the living area width by up to three and a half feet - a welcome addition to an often already large floor space!

The slide outs are built into the structure of the caravan and when retracted fits snugly into place giving a relatively smooth external surface. Many American caravans feature at least one slide out and some have three, one to extend the kitchen, one for the living room and the third for the bedroom.

Slide out caravans are an ingenious way to take a much larger holiday home out on the road than is possible with conventional caravans.
