Description:

THIS LISTING IS FOR ONE BADGE ONLY - NOT TWO - PLEASE - STATE WHICH COLOUR YOU PREFER AND ALSO BUTTERFLY CLUTCH PIN OR BROOCH CLASP PIN FASTENING.

This is a badge that was designed and commissioned by myself as a pigeon fancier for other pigeon fanciers. It comes in a choice of 2 colours and in its own presentation case so that it can be stored safely until its use the following year.

This is not like the cheap rubbish that you see on the internet. This is a well thought out and QUALITY made badge.

(1) The black silhouette pigeon I chose because it brings an image forward from the past that is dead and gone just like the black silhouette soldiers that we see on many other poppy badges.

(2) The blue colours were the colours of the National Pigeon Association from 1939 to 1945.

(3) The black laurel leaf ring is the only thing which is on a real Dickin medal apart from words in its text.

(4) The purple poppies were introduced by the Animal Aid charity organisation to commemorate ANIMALS in WAR. The RED POPPY is for fallen soldiers and the PURPLE POPPY is for fallen animals.

(5)The crown and Union Jack flags signify for King and country.

(6) The text below tells of the medals won by these heroic pigeons.

I combined all of these things together into one badge and this is the end result. A lovely quality piece you can be proud to wear!
