Home-Start is one of the leading family support charities in the UK.
Home-Start volunteers help vulnerable families with young children deal with the challenges they face. We support parents as they learn to cope, improve their confidence and build better lives for their children.
Home-Start is seeking to recruit, train and support local volunteers to support families who are currently inactive to develop a lifelong commitment to physical activity and a healthy lifestyle. This exciting new project engages the whole family in physical activity together through the development of bespoke physical activity plans. This project is being delivered across the borough of Hinckley and Bosworth. We hope to achieve more stable and nurturing environments for children and more activity will lead to better prevention and management of mental and physical conditions. Thus leading to improved educational attainment helping to break the cycle of poverty.

We welcome volunteers of any age from all walks of life. If you have the appetite and would like to make a difference then we would love to hear from you

This opportunity will include a training programme which will be held one day a week for six weeks within the locality. Volunteers will visit a local family once a week for 2 hours to review the families physical activity plan and help with difficulties they face, re-energise when motivation lapses and attend community facilities or activity sessions with families to boost their confidence and help them develop a manageable routine. All out of pocket expenses will be paid.
