There's a new Club being formed for croquet and bowls players in Aldershot and Farnham this season.
Founder members of the Farnham Croquet Club are joining together with bowls members at
The Traco Club in Aldershot to form the New Aldershot Traction Bowls and Croquet Club. The Club will
be unique in the area - the first chance to play croquet as part of a Club and the first local Club where
members can play both sports. Bowls has been played at The Traco in Weybourne Road since 1947 and
now there's the opportunity to play croquet alongside.
The Club held a well attended introductory meeting and already has more than sixty members.
There will be plenty of chances for those who want to try their hand before they join - taster
and coaching sessions are being arranged in April and May. There's no expensive croquet equipment to
buy (it's all provided by the Club) and some bowls balls can be provided.
The Club is very keen to promote the sports for families and younger players. There are two
special discounted family memberships so that children can play with their parents and four smaller
croquet mallets for youngsters. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
