Beautiful Antique Rocking Horse - Only £750
I am informed this is a19th Century Item.
Well Preserved, Very Little Use.
Condition is Used.
Collection in person only.
A most interesting and rare "Naive" rocking horse believed circa early 19th Century. Hand built by British craftsman.
Based on an earlier 18th Century design hence the small head and large body.
All original paint and the horse and stand (the base/stand has been renewed) are in excellent condition with an original cantilever mechanism in perfect working order, safe and stable to ride.
Considered suitable for age group 4 to 10 years.

Height to saddle: 31"
Length: (nose to butt of tail): 44"
Victorian carpenters replicated the popular 18 Century design in various sizes supplied to homes, fair ground operators and seaside resorts of the period. For her age it is apparent this Naive has obviously had very little use as they are very rarely found in this condition complete with original full main and tail. The saddle is slightly worn and stirrups also appear original.
Both the horse and stand possess a very good patina. Primitive yes, but this horse has obviously been well loved probably made to order for a stately home or similar.
