we think The shell was made for the QF 13 pdr Mk 1 Field gun made in 1905 by Vickers Son & Maxim for the British Royal Horse Artillery batteries supporting Cavalry brigades
This vintage 13PR brass shell casing is a striking piece of militaria from the era of World War I, with a unique history and provenance. Manufactured by VS&M Vickers Son & Maxim in the United Kingdom, we think that this was made for the QF 13 pdr Mk 1 Field gun and makes it a highly sought-after collector's item. It stands 31.5cm high and is 9cm in diameter at the base and 8cm at the neck , and weighs 1.22kg. It has no splits or cracks and is in great condition for an item 115+ years of age.
