Our client is looking for an Assistant Farm Manager to join their team on a modern broiler farm based in East Anglia.

They are a family-run mixed broiler and arable farm who are looking for someone to assist the Farm Manager in the day to day duties of their 8 modern broiler units.

Accommodation provided with utilities included - 3 bedroom barn conversion

We are looking for someone with good poultry experience who is a strong team player with a performance-focused attitude. This is an ideal role for someone wanting to progress in the poultry industry, and we are able to support your progress with relevant training.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual who can manage all aspects of a poultry unit. Responsible for ensuring high welfare of poultry, production performance and safe working practices.

Key responsibilities:

Report to the Farm Manager in regard to all duties.
In the absence of the Farm Manager, the Assistant Farm Manager will have the overall responsibility of the site. You will be fully informed of any outstanding work that needs completing in the Farm Managers absence.
Be engaged with all aspects of running the poultry farm.
Complete all work required for rearing of chickens, alongside the maintenance of the renewable heat systems and general grounds maintenance.
Assist with record-keeping, ventilation management, feed ordering, vaccinations etc.
Work effectively as part of the team to ensure the best possible welfare and results.
Responsible for general shed maintenance, once animal husbandry duties are completed.
The successful candidate will:

Be enthusiastic, reliable and committed.
Have experience of working with poultry, ideally broilers.
Be hands-on and possess a practical attitude.
Potentially have experience with telehandlers.
