Pelham house: Deputy Manager
An independently run care home that supports 30 older people living with dementia. We believe everyday should be a vibrant and stimulating environment for both Residents and staff.

As a Deputy Manager at Pelham house, you will be an integral and valued member of the team providing excellent care for our Residents, and strong support for the registered manager and the ability to share knowledge with the staff team.
Purpose
To deliver a high quality of care to our residents and ensure their safety and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
Complete daily spot checking of medication ordering & booking in medication / weekly CD checks.
Ensuring robust auditing takes place and is ongoing
Ensuring a good working relationship with healthcare professionals including managing weekly virtual GP rounds
Effective communication and problem solving.
Being a strong leader of the team
Being able to manage in the absence of the home manager.
Managing the rota.
Supervision & appraisal
Predominately working on the floor leading & directing staff
Managing the on-call phone alongside the home manager
Some weekends
Key Requirements
Minimum of 2 years' experience in a supervisory role and must hold NVQ level 3 or above,
Solid work experience in care settings
Good communication skills both written and verbal
Team working skills and ability to use your own initiative
Calm under pressure
Knowledge of Dementia
Knowledge of CQC & Safeguarding practices
Medication knowledge & awareness
