Location: Stroud, Gloucestershire
Days & Hours: 25 hours per week to be worked as follows: 3.00pm-9.30pm Tuesdays and Fridays, 12 hours on Saturday or Sunday daytime. Flexible to cover extra shifts during the school holidays and absence of other staff members. These hours can be worked by more than one person
Pay: £13.50 per hour, Monday - Friday & £15.50 Weekends and Bank Holidays
Driver required: Yes, as you will be required to drive the client's car as well as your own for work purposes
Essential: Previous experience of supporting young people with special needs, though demonstration of a willingness to learn and good communication skills considered. Flexible i.e. with start and finish times according to the needs of Ella and her family
Desirable: Ability to work additional hours as required
Family Pets: The family have a pet Labrador dog

Ella, is a happy, sociable, young lady aged 19, she lives at home with her parents, two younger brothers and a Labrador dog, so it's important that you are happy to work around dogs. Ella is a very friendly young lady and enjoys the company of her family and friends, she attends a local special needs school and really enjoys after school activities such as hydrotherapy, massage and yoga, so you will need to be sociable and adaptable to help her enjoy all these and be prepared to be busy!

Ella has Cerebral Palsy affecting her whole body, and she is seeking a Support Worker to join her current team to assist her (and her parents) with all aspects of her care and to support her and her family with everyday life both at home and when she is out and about.

Ella's Support Worker will need to help her with her communication difficulties, assisting her to use her communication aids, promoting her well being and her independence under the guidance of her parents and professionals who will provide advice and recommendations i.e. on positioning, feeding, exercises, etc. which needs to be followed.

Pay and Benefits:
£13.50 per hour, Monday - Friday & £15.50 Weekends and Bank Holidays
On-going training & support provided
5.6 weeks annual leave pro rata
Free DBS check

In order to promote continuity of our high care standards, you will be offered:
