Responding to criticism about a lack of clear guidance for the domestic repair and maintenance sector, new government advice was published early this week. It states that this work can continue under the following conditions.

1. The tradesperson is well AND
2. All Public Health advice including the 2M rule is stuck to at all times AND
3. The household where the work is taking place is not self isolating.

If the builder is working on a building that is currently empty, then there is no reason why
work cannot continue so long as workers remain well. Workers should work two metres
apart from each other, following Government guidelines.
