Iris, please read advert in York

£500

Iris – 3-Year-Old American Paint x Cob Filly – Special Home Wanted Approx. 13hh (possibly slightly under) | 3 years old This is a very sad sale of Iris, who has been with us for over a year. She is a beautiful American Paint x Cob filly looking for a knowledgeable, experienced adult home that can offer the individual attention and management she needs. Iris spent a significant period of her early life with very limited human interaction before coming to us. Since then, we have worked hard with her and have seen just how much potential she has. When she is kept separate from other horses and handled consistently, she becomes affectionate, interactive, and genuinely enjoys human company. She will whinny when she sees you, run over to greet you, loves food, enjoys scratches and cuddles, and begins following you around like a little dog. The difficulty is that whenever she rejoins a herd situation, she quickly becomes horse-focused again and much of that hard-earned progress is lost. We have tried various approaches, but unfortunately we do not have the facilities to keep her separate long-term, she becomes aggressive with weaker horses, and will double barrel and be at them all of the time,to the point she has chaced 4 over large fences, and with other horses also needing our time and attention, we feel she deserves the opportunity to continue her journey with someone who can provide the consistency she needs. Iris is not suitable for novices or under-18s. She requires an experienced, patient home that understands young horses and confidence-building work. We are not looking for dealers or anyone intending to pass her from home to home. She needs stability, routine, and someone willing to invest time in building a lasting relationship with her. She has seen the farrier previously and will require continued handling and education. Loading will likely need patience and sensible management due to her limited experience. This is genuinely a heartbreaking decision, and finding the right home is our absolute priority. We are in no rush and will wait for the right person. Please message with details of the home you can offer. Serious enquiries only. £500
Still Looking for Iris's Perfect Home

Please read carefully before offering.

Iris is a lovely pony looking for a quiet, low-key home. She is not suited to a large, busy livery yard with 16–20 horses coming and going. She thrives in a calm environment with consistent handling and would be happiest in a small private yard or a one-to-one setup where she can build trust and routine.

We're not being fussy for the sake of it—it's simply about finding the right match for her wellbeing and happiness. A quieter home will allow her to settle and be the best version of herself.

Ideally, we're looking for an adult home without young children and with a calm, predictable routine. Iris is happiest when life is kept simple and quiet.

Please understand that this is not about riding ability, qualifications, or how many years of horse experience someone has. Iris is not coming from a novice home, and she does not need rescuing from one. This search is entirely about finding the right environment and lifestyle for her. Even the most knowledgeable horse person may not be the right match if they cannot offer the calm, quiet, consistent setup that she needs to thrive.

Please note that Iris is not being marketed as a competition pony or a horse being sold to the highest bidder. We are looking for the right person rather than a quick transaction. As such, I won't be providing endless videos, photos, or viewings for casual enquiries. Serious homes are very welcome to get in touch and ask questions, but my priority is finding the best possible match for Iris.

We are in absolutely no rush. The right home is far more important than a quick home, and Iris will stay where she is until that special home comes along.

If you think you can offer Iris a peaceful, understanding home, we'd love to hear from you.

Thank you for reading and for helping us find Iris's person. ️I also want to add we don't have to let her go,but we want her to flourish,it's about giving a horse the life it needs,at the end of the day its about the horse not the humans
