Dusty is in need of a loving home , we got dusty just 3 days ago , He is extremely well trained , he is eager to please . However we have learnt dusty is a anxious boy and will initially be anxious when greeted by new people , we are a very busy household and he is struggling with this. He needs a owner with exsperience with dogs with anxiety . He will get anxious when the door knocks or when people enter the home and can briefly growl but with reassurance and a treat he's soon sat in Thier laps licking and giving them love . He would suit a home with older children and someone willing to work on his anxiety with him . He's perfect every other way and previous owners have really trained him well aside from his anxiety. We took him on 3 days ago but his anxiety has become more since being in a busy home of 8 and alot of traffic in and out of the home /kids knocking all
the time . He otherwise is great and will not beg for food , he will leave food that's dropped by kids he follows commands and walks beautifully on lead he also has good recall off lead . Will sit by the door and ask for the toilet .he can be a massive sap when he feels at ease ! The only reason for re-home is due to his anxiety . He would best suit a home that is
generally quiet preferably with no young children . Again more because of his anxiety rather than him not behaving around children . Once comfortable he is very good but due to his anxiety and stranger danger he can growl at strangers .
This I have no exsperience with and with my hands full with 5 children that are loud and boistrous dusty just Isent thriving my home is adding to his uncertainty and unpredictablility. We were not aware of his anxiety prior to giving him a home and feel he needs someone exsperienced with this to really help him . Aside from this he is the dream dog . No dogs perfect but he really is in every way aside from his stranger anxiety . Please only equire if your willing to put the training in with him regarding his anxiety as this is such a shame . dusty lived in a home with older children and another dog prior to us . We have 4 cats that he has started to socialise with but does try to chase them if they catch him by suprise , this could improve in time as such early days as he does not chase or show any interest in cats on walks but it's still a uncertainty for now. He is super chilled boy and loves to play green light red light with the kids on the moors he's been a pleasure and I love him already but my home is just not a great place for a doggie with anxiety .
