LOOK! Absolutely gorgeous shaggy boy, Bob Marley (goes by Marley), looking for his forever home. I would like to find this asap so he can start settling in. Price reflects this and is not negotiable, being significantly lower already than any other similar pup for sale.
Marley is a Saint Bernard X Standard Poodle. He has a soft black wavy coat with subtle hints of chocolate starting to show through.
I was asked to source Marley as a potential assistance dog prospect. I complete a thorough temperament assessment over the course of 6-8 weeks, during which time I continue with socialisation and start working on basic training. I do not charge anything for this to try and make the price as affordable as possible. Unfortunately the person who asked me to source him has pulled out through absolutely no fault of his.
Marley was born and raised outside by the breeder and had only minimal interaction. He was very wary and unsure of how to behave when he first came home with me. He will need sensitive food, at least for a while, due to being fed poorly by the breeder, getting only adult dog meat. As a result of this, and eating things outside he shouldn't, he had worms which I immediately treated, and an upset tummy for weeks which has now settled down following a course of medication.
Marley has made massive progress and is unrecognisable from the pup I brought home. He is a very affectionate, loving, and cuddly boy. He is extremely quick to learn and so eager to please Tummy rubs are his absolute favourite thing! Marley sleeps through the night, is fully crate trained, and toilet training is 99% there. He travels well in the car in that he is quiet and shows no worries,though he can get a little car sick. He is learning to walk really nicely on the lead which is remarkable considering how little contact/interaction he had in his early weeks. Marley has been to the groomers for his first puppy pamper and was a superstar!
Marley can be slightly dominant around little dogs and other males; he is responding immediately to gentle correction. He would suit a home where he's the only dog, or could live with a non-dominant bigger dog, preferably female.
Marley is not suitable for a first time dog owner. Experience with giant breeds would be ideal.
Microchipped and fully vaccinated.
