Support Worker

(known internally as Enablement Assistant)

Salary: £10.20 per hour

Location: Bracknell, Berkshire

Shift times: 7am-10pm + sleep (10pm-7am) or 7am-7pm & 7pm-7am.



About the role

We are looking for an experienced support worker with a background in working with people who have a learning disability, autism or experience in supporting people with behaviours that challenge.

The person you will be supporting is a 56 year old man living in Bracknell. He is diagnosed with Autism and Learning Disabilities. He would like someone who can help him to feel reassured. Someone who remains calm, someone who will sing to him, supprt him on long walks in the fresh air and occassionally people who will give him a hug if he asks them for one. He really enjoys classical music, baking cakes and biscuits, and loves watching David Attenborough documentaries. Staff will need to support him with his personal care, using hand over hand direction and simple instructions. He will need support with maintaining a healthy and balances diet ensuring that his meals are cut up for him.

About PBS4

We are a not for profit and social enterprise support provider for adults and young adults who have learning disabilities and/or autism. We support people to live in their own homes, with their own tenancies and our model of support is a practice called Positive Behaviour Support. Our CEO Jonathan Beebee is a registered Learning Disabilities Nurse and qualified Behaviour Analyst. We are a medium-sized organisation supporting 35 people across Hampshire, Dorset, Berkshire and Oxfordshire and with a workforce of just over 200.

As an Enablement Assistant you will have the support of a team of people dedicated to supporting that person. You will also be able to access support from the Enablement Leader, the Enablement Manager, and the Positive Behaviour Support Clinician who provide you and the team with management and leadership. Your shift pattern may consist of day shifts, waking nights and sleeps.
