Salary: £10.20 per hour

Location: Bracknell, Berkshire

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Female support worker with a background in working with people who have a learning disability, autism or experience in supporting people with behaviours that challenge.

The person you will support is a 42 year old lady with mild learning disabilities, autism and emotionally unstable personality disorder. She has a history of self-neglect, verbal challenging behaviour and physical challenging behaviour. We need someone who is fairly resilient but also proactive in their approach, especially if the person you will be supporting is having a particularly bad day and not being very cooperative. She will need a team who will support her in situations where she is struggling to manage herself. She needs someone who is consistent in their approach, as she does not react well to change. She would like someone to support her in a warm and friendly manner and someone who will take the time to listen to her, so that she feels her opinions are being heard.

The person you will be supporting really enjoys going for walks, doing arts and crafts (especially hama beads), playing pool, taking part in karaoke (including gospel music) and watching soaps, such as Eastenders and Corrie! As a support worker you will need to assist her with the following tasks; administering medication, learning and building her independence skills, supporting her to cook meals, monitoring my blood sugar levels throughout the day, maintaining a clean home and ensuring she attends her appointments for the week.

Here at PBS4, we pride ourselves in upskilling our teams! We will provide full training and inductions prior to working on shift with the people we support.
