Lionswood The Duchess 13.3hh Piebald Mare Unbrokenin Stourbridge

£2,800

Looking for a new

Lionswood The Duchess

Duchess is looking for her new family. She is 13.3hh currently at 3 years and 8 months old and is unbroken, she should make 14.1 at maturity.

I bought her as a 2 year old based on her temperament and was told she should make 15hh. Unfortunately she won't make that and to say i am gutted is an understatement as she is the sweetest girl with the most amazing nature. I have MS and I find coping with the faster shorter stride length of a pony difficult. I also need to consider the weight issue and currently with tack I would be too heavy for her. So I have had to make the really tough decision to do what is best for both of us going forward.

In the last 16 months she has been trained using a mixture of natural horsemanship and positive reinforcement. But she does understand the word No.

She is great with the vet and the farrier. Watch the farrier video at 1.30 seconds where my farrier says she has solid perfectly balanced feet.
She has had her wolf teeth removed and even the vet commented on how good she was. She is up to date with the rest of her teeth and is up to date with vaccinations.

She loads and travels well, you can fully clip her no problem, even the tickly bits and she comes to call. She lives in a herd of mares but has lived with geldings no problem.

She does get sweet itch in the warmer weather but it is only mild and easily controlled with sweet itch rugs and fly masks of which she has 2 of each and these will go with her when she is sold.

Duchess is a completely unspoilt blank canvas ready to start her ridden journey, and maybe her showing career, I am just sad that it won't be with me.

Figure is negotiable within reason for the right home. Videos available
