I am looking for a very patient and understanding home for my 7-year-old dachshund. He’s a sensitive little dog who struggles with anxiety and needs an owner who can give him plenty of time, consistency, and reassurance.

He can be reactive and may bark a lot, especially around new people or situations. Because he is anxious, he can sometimes nip if he feels overwhelmed, so he would need an experienced dog owner who understands nervous dogs and is willing to work with him patiently.

He also has separation anxiety, so he would suit a home where someone is around most of the time and able to help him feel safe and settled. With the right person, he has the potential to build a strong, loyal bond.

He may get along with another calm female dachshund, but careful introductions would be important.

This little guy isn’t the easiest dog, but for the right person with time, patience, and love to give, he could become a very devoted companion.
