1yr old Pug x Jack Russell needs a new loving homein Norwich

£650

1 Boy puppy available

Lovely little neutered/vaccinated boy who was rehomed to me due to owner not being able to afford 2 dogs, now I find myself in a situation whereby I am unable to keep him.

He wasn't socialised properly but is in no way reactive or aggressive, he wants to play with everyone and everything, walks well with a Halti now and is learnign to meet other dogs although he still approaches them head-on instead of bum first!, but has walked nicely alongside calm older dogs we have met on walks and will watch and get excited when he sees a new one with his tail going like a helicopter. He knows quite a few commands now and will do absolutely ANYTHING for a piece of cooked plain chicken or bit of cheese.

He is now crate trained and sleeps in it at night-100% cleanly. He doesn't gulp down his food like a usual Pug and has no guarding behaviours. He doesn't try to bite either dogs or humans.

He didn't have toys before but now he has loads and enjoys tug, fetch, snuffle mats and balls and anything that engages his brain such as 'find it'. He has been a super fast learner. He goes to the back door when he needs to go to the toilet.

He is still a bouncy pup learning usual rules he wasn't taught and has a very high prey drive so will not suit living with small children who run around or small furries or cats, he still gets a bit mouthy when very excited playing but is easy to calm, and he will need a garden with a minimum 5ft fence as he can jump-high. Notably he doesn't get excited at a still, slow walking or sleeping cat. He shows no interest then.

He is a very clever boy and loves his chest rubs and lap cuddles. He has not been left alone ever I don't think (he shadows me everywhere since he arrived) so will suit someone home all day or with experience of gradually getting him used to alone time.

As he is still excited around dogs at times, I think he will need someone with dog experience rather than a first-time dog parent-but this is is no way a reflection on him as he has a genuinely beautiful nature and he is still learning self-control that was never taught to him.

In the two months I have had him he has learned sit, lay down, go to bed, calm, wee/poo (he will amost go on demand if he can smell chicken!), fetch, drop it, leave it, find it, and is getting the hang of stay. He does not get excited when the word walk is used and will sit nicely to put his harness or Halti on-but he loves his two walks a day and enjoys his playtimes, licky mat, kong and chews. He is not destructive and doesn't whine. He will now settle himself too which is great. He also absolutely LOVES being in a warm bath-but not a cold one!

He will sit still for eye drops and ear drops and is learning give paw, he has no issue with being picked up or handled.

Overall think like he is still a very young pup who needs to still learn all the ropes as he has only 'just' turned one (birthday 8-5-2025) but was in reality starting training from scratch but has already proved what a quick learner he is!

Vet record-all clear and healthy, all his things-everything needed bed/bowls/harness/collar/2 x leads, a Halti/toys/food (Naturo) and care items such as eye drops/ear cleaner/shampoo/wipes, raincoat (dislikes the rain) etc will come with him-hundreds of pounds of stuff. He is also chipped on Pettrac.

It's very sad I can't keep him but it is for a genuine reason, and nothing to do with him at all.
