Honeybees Nucleus Colonies - 6-frame National-sized framesin Keith

£200

Overwintered honeybees nucleus colonies. These were bred and raised in the Scottish Highlands (at 238m above sea level), so they are acclimatised to a harsh climate.

The queens were bred from grafted larvae in summer 2025, treated for Varroa with a Fluvalinate strip in October/November 2025 and then fed with Fondabee right through the winter.

Following a slow start to the summer here, these colonies are now building strongly to be viable starter nucleus colonies for starter beekeepers.

Each 6-frame nucleus will contain at least 3 frames with capped brood, larvae and eggs with other frames containing nectar (capped of uncapped) and pollen (sufficient to sustain them until placed in a hive) in a Correx travel box. Also, of course, the colony is headed by a blue-marked (2025) Queen, originally bred from a Buckfast source.

The frames are National-sized, but I can supply top bars to facilitate temporary storage in a Langstroth hive.

These will be available from the week commencing June 8th. I have a few colonies for sale, so please contact me for details, or a discussion.

They must be collected. I am located near Dufftown.
